On December 8th ORIGINAL WOMEN ™ partners with CARE to
celebrate the artistry of women around the world.
Join us for a festive evening featuring a new collection of beautiful
handcrafted jewelry, wearable accessories, and decorative items
from more than 40 women artisans from 25 countries including
Tibet, Laos, Turkmenistan, Colombia, Peru, and South Africa. There
also will be a COLLECTOR’S GALLERY with one of a kind and
heritage pieces available only at the event.
On that day, at the event and online at www.original-women.com, 10 percent of all sales will be donated to CARE to empower girls and
women from more than 70 countries to make lasting changes to
their communities.

A Powerful NoiseWorld Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival

CARE supporters gathered for a night at the Tribeca Film Festival supporting CARE. The occasion for this special event was a Tribeca Film Festival screening of A Powerful Noise, an inspiring new documentary that showcases three remarkable women and their victories over poverty and oppression.
The night began with a party, where CARE supporters met Jacqueline Dembele, who is featured in the film. Known as "Madame Urbain" to locals, Jacqueline fights forced labor practices and illiteracy in the slums of Bamako, Mali. Following the party, guests attended the screening of A Powerful Noise. The night concluded with a panel discussion at the theater with Jacqueline, the film’s director Tom Capello and producer Scott Thigpen.
The evening was presented in partnership with Ethos Water, Lois Hill and Warburg Pincus.
The Walk for Water is inspired by the long journey many women and children must make every day in water-stressed countries. The time spent fetching water for their families prevents them from pursuing an education, maintaining their households or earning additional income.

Young Professionals for CARE is a diverse group of young people
dedicated to advancing CARE's mission to serve individuals and families in the poorest communities in the world. Advocating for policy change is a crucial part of the fight against poverty. The CARE Action Network (CAN) provides people who are concerned about poverty and injustice an opportunity to voice their concerns and educate policy-makers whose decisions affect us all. Our messages are stronger when we speak with one voice! As a participant in CAN, you will learn about issues that are critical to eliminating poverty, take action on the topics that matter to you, educate our nation's leaders, and be invited to regional and national CARE events.
